WHY JOIN THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS?

Imagine being a part of an organization that fills your heart and mind with the joy of giving to others and the feeling that comes with making a difference. Knights of Columbus men, 18 years of age and older, are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life. For information about the Knights of Columbus, contact Leonard V. Ridilla at 724-539-1813.

Call Teri Pomerleau at 724-539-8629, ext. 15.

INSPIRATIONAL LECTURE

St. Vincent Archabbey will host an inspirational lecture by Carl T. Hasselman, PhD., entitled “The Passion and Death of Christ: An Analysis of the Shroud of Turin from a Medical Perspective” on Sunday, March 21, at 7 p.m. in the Fred M. Rogers Center.

The lecture will focus on medical aspects of the Shroud of Turin, the linen cloth that wrapped the body of Jesus Christ for burial after the Crucifixion. While the lecture includes medical information, the experience is very spiritual.

There is no charge for admission; however, seating is limited. To reserve a seat or for more information, call 724-805-2177.

OPERATION RICE BOWL

The Prodigal Son

The story of the Prodigal Son helps us refocus on the meaning of Lent. This is a time to change our ways, to turn back to God our Father, and to appreciate and share the gifts we have received. As we begin the second half of our journey with Catholic Relief Services’ Operation Rice Bowl, we remember that we are called to be stewards of what God has given us, and we connect our prayers and fasting with our giving.

THANK YOU

Christ the Divine Teacher School would like to say “Thank You” to everyone who supported us in our recent Cash Bash. By purchasing tickets, making donations and attending the event, you helped to contribute to a very successful evening. We appreciate your support of our school and Catholic education.

TERMINAL ILLNESS

When members of the Parish have been diagnosed with a terminal illness or have entered hospice care, we kindly ask that the priests of the Parish be notified as soon as possible. This will allow us to tend to their pastoral needs and to spend time with them. When someone’s final days are at hand, kindly call the Parish Office as soon as possible. Thank you very much!

HOLY LAND GIFTS

After all Masses on March 13 and 14, there will be a display of hand made articles for sale in the Assembly Room, including nativity scenes, crucifixes, rosaries, the last supper and many other beautiful religious articles. Because of the recent interruption of the tourist trade, over 100 Christian families in Bethlehem make their livelihood through the sale of their hand made olive wood religious articles. Thank you for supporting this project to keep the Christians present in the holy land of Jesus’ birth. May God bless you.
